Why You Need To Use Proven Client Prospecting Methods

In order to have a real business as a Local Small Business Consultant and/or Digital Marketing Agency Owner…

You need to have clients!

In order to get clients…

You need to have a system/process in place to put yourself and/or your business’ products or services in front of prospective clients.

This is where most fail.

They simply do not have or implement a proven client prospecting method.

Because without a proven client prospecting method or strategy…

You’re relying on hope.

And hope is not a plan.

Like the old saying goes…

“Failing to plan is planning to fail.”

So if you want to run a successful Digital Marketing Agency as a Local Small Business Consultant…

This needs to be your top priority.

Nothing else matters.

And that’s why I have decided to do this client prospecting series of newsletters. 

But before I get any further into this week’s newsletter…

I want to share with you what I believe to be the Top 7 client prospecting methods.

 

What The Top 7 Client Prospecting Methods Are

I’ve been in the Local Small Business Consulting industry and have run my own Digital Marketing Agency for the better part of the past 14 years.

So it’s safe to assume that I’ve done my fair share of client prospecting over the years.

With that being said…

Here’s what I’ve determined to be the top 7 proven client prospecting methods:

  1. Website Hosting Method
  2. Free Listing Method
  3. Repurpose Reviews Method
  4. Google Maps Method
  5. Google Message Method
  6. Facebook Pixel Method
  7. Facebook Ad Method

In this week’s newsletter…

I want to focus your attention on the first client prospecting method: Website Hosting Method.

 

How The Website Hosting Method Works

By now you’ve probably already guessed that this has something to do with websites and hosting…

I know, right…Captain Obvious! 😉

Believe it or not…

There are still local small businesses who DO NOT have a website!

Crazy, I know!

But it’s 100% true!

And tack on the fact that there are over 500,000 new small businesses starting up each and every year…

Of course most if not all of them also need a website too!

So what we’re doing is looking for local small businesses who do not have a website…

But how are we identifying these local small businesses?

Good question…

This method is pretty straight forward…

You’re going to go to Google and type in something like “dentists near me”, or “dentists in Chicago”, or basically any niche in any city, i.e. “NICHE in CITY.”

From there you can click on the map in Google…

Look at the listing on the left hand side of the map and if a listing doesn’t have a website icon and link to their website…

You can safely assume that they don’t have a website.

Definitely not rocket science by any means.

Or if you already have access to a lead scraper or decide to use one…

Then most if not all of them (lead scrapers) have the capability test for whether or not they have a website and report it back.

After you have either manually searched and recorded the local small business information into a spreadsheet…

Or you have taken the easy route and used a lead scraper…

You want to reach out to each individual business and see if they’re interested in getting a website.

The key to this client prospecting method is doing the work!

Having a plan of action and executing it.

This is a never ending process and will only be as successful as the amount of work that’s put into it.

And in my opinion that’s why you simply cannot afford to NOT have a Virtual Assistant that you can rely on to do the work that you and I won’t do.
