In this week’s issue, I want to talk about why “pipeline marketing” is super important for local small businesses and how you can help them implement it as a Local Small Business Consultant or Digital Marketing Agency Owner…
Oftentimes Local Small Business Consultants and Digital Marketing Agencies only offer half the solution (if that!)…
But it wasn’t always their fault.
So with that in mind…
Let’s dive in!
What Is “Pipeline Marketing”?
“Pipeline Marketing” is when you move a lead as quickly and efficiently as possible through different stages of a sales funnel.
But more importantly…
A “pipeline marketing” strategy *tracks* the leads as they progress through various stages…
Thus creating a complete sales cycle going from lead to sale.
Of course what you put into your “pipeline marketing” solution is completely up to you…
However, it should be tailored to your client’s specific needs.
In fact, one of the best ways to build out a “pipeline marketing” solution for each local small business is to dig into how the lead to sales process works currently.
After you have the blueprint in hand…
Then try to automate as many of the parts of their current sales process as you possibly can.
Why “Pipeline Marketing” Is So Important
Like I mentioned earlier…
Most Local Small Business Consultants and Digital Marketing Agency Owners only offer half of the solution…
Meaning, they might offer a lead generation service.
And that’s it!
That’s usually the extent of it…
They will generate the leads from Facebook or wherever…
But then hand them off to the local small business owner and wash their hands of it.
Essentially leaving it up to the local small business owner to initially contact them, follow-up with them, and ultimately nurture the leads.
There’s two BIG problems with this…
- The Local Small Business Consultant or Digital Agency is assuming that the local small business will have a system in place to turn the lead into a sale.
- The Local Small Business Consultant or Digital Agency is leaving it to chance that the local small business will manually contact and nurture the leads in an effective manner.
And you know what they say when you “assume” anything?
It makes an “ass” out of “u” and “me”! 😉
So never assume anything…
And why leave any room for chance?
That’s where pipeline marketing comes into play.
How A “Pipeline Marketing” Strategy Is Different
A pipeline marketing strategy is different from just offering to generate leads by…
Providing a complete system that will not only generate the leads…
But takes the leads many steps further by also automatically…
- Initiating Contact,
- Following-Up, and
- Nurturing
The prospect through the local small business’ entire sales cycle.
This eliminates any responsibility on the local small business…
And puts all the responsibilities on the Local Small Business Consultant and/or Digital Marketing Agency.
Now you might be wondering why you would want to do that…
And the main reason is that if you don’t do that…
There’s a really high probability that the local small business will let the leads you generate slip through the cracks.
And when that happens…
Local small business clients get unhappy with the service you’re providing even though it’s not your fault that the leads are not converting.
How To Implement A “Pipeline Marketing” Strategy
Remember when I said, “But it wasn’t always their fault.”? – referring to Local Small Business Consultants and Digital Marketing Agencies…
What I meant by that was that there hasn’t always been an easy way to provide a pipeline marketing strategy.
It usually involved far too many moving parts…
Making it nearly impossible to create and make work seamlessly.
If you tried to create a jimmy rigged pipeline marketing strategy…
You had to learn how to use several different softwares including but not limited to…
- Email Marketing Service Provider (i.e. ActiveCampaign, Aweber, GetResponse, MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.)
- SMS Text Messaging Service Provider (i.e. SalesMessage, SimpleTexting, EZTexting, ClickSend, Textedly, etc.)
- Pipeline Service (i.e. Pipedrive or equivalent)
- Calendar Service (i.e. Calendly or equivalent)
And don’t forget you would need to fully understand how to create “zaps” with Zapier to connect all the dots.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention you needed to be able to get the leads from Facebook to your CRM contraption probably through the use of Zapier as well.
Like I said… A lot of moving parts!
But thank god all of that has changed recently with the advent of an all-in-one software solution called HighLevel.
With HighLevel SaaS (Software as a Service) everything you possibly need for a pipeline marketing strategy is included under one roof!
No more having to piecemeal 4 or 5 things in order to do this and achieve the same result.
So with that being said…
Don’t you think you owe it to yourself and your clients to stop offering a lead generation service that leaves it up to the local small business…
And start offering a complete “pipeline marketing” solution that ensures that the precious leads get handled correctly and have the best chance to convert into sales?
I think you know the answer.
