In this week’s issue, I want to talk about how you can easily get your local small business clients in front of thousands of people per day for just pennies on the dollar as a Local Small Business Consultant or Digital Marketing Agency Owner…
In my opinion, this is a super simple advertising strategy that “just makes sense”…
Yet, you rarely if ever see anyone using it.
So with that in mind…
Let’s dive in!
What Is The Advertising Strategy?
You see this advertising strategy being implemented every single day…
On TV!
You know the local area TV ads on your local affiliate TV stations (i.e. ABC, CBC, NBC, FOX, etc.).
Most of the time it will be for local attorneys (at least that’s what dominates here in Las Vegas)…
But you’ll also see them for local restaurants, local plumbing, local car dealerships, etc.
One such infamous TV ad out here in Vegas was Glen Lerner (now Lerner & Rowe).
They’ve been airing practically the same TV ad since I’ve lived here!
That’s OVER 20 YEARS!
Needless to say, I know their *jingle* by heart…
“Glen Lerner is the way to go… Call 877 1 5 ‘O’ ‘O’.”
It’s brand recognition.
And even though I’ve never needed a personal injury attorney (knock on wood)…
If heaven forbid I did…
Who do you think I would immediately think of?!
If you answered, “Glen Lerner!”
You’d be 100% correct!
And it’s all due to the fact that they’ve been broadcasting their ad on TV for years!
But of course, I’m not talking about running TV ads for this advertising strategy…
Where You Can Implement This Advertising Strategy
I’m talking about running social media ads!
More specifically, Facebook and Instagram ads!
See there’s a couple advertising campaign types that are ideal for this particular advertising strategy…
- Brand Awareness
- Reach
Brand awareness ads and reach ads are almost identical…
According to Facebook, the difference between the two is…
Brand awareness is shown to people who are more likely to pay attention to them…
While reach is shown to the maximum number of people in your audience.
And since 2022, they’ve been combined under the “Awareness” objective.
Essentially, what you used to be able to get for free when posting to your Facebook business page…
You now have to pay for.
Why Use This Advertising Strategy?
One of the biggest benefits of this advertising strategy is that it’s extremely cheap to run.
You can reach hundreds of people per day for less than $1.
You can reach thousands of people per day for less than $2.
However, you must understand that this type of advertising does not usually equate to…
- Generating leads
- Making Sales
And if for some reason it does result in either of those two things…
It’s just a bonus!
This advertising strategy is designed to do one thing and one thing alone…
Be in your client’s audience FACE!
That’s it!
It’s there to… Wait for it…
Build brand awareness!
And more importantly to get your client’s brand in front of many people as many times as possible within their given audience.
That audience typically being a specific geographic region or area only.
How To Execute This Advertising Strategy?
First things first…
You need a Facebook (Meta) business account.
You need to set up an ad account within the Facebook business account.
And then you need to create the actual ad creative itself…
Meaning, the image or video that will be shown to your client’s ideal geographic area.
BTW, I recommend a simple image that’s 1080×1080 with a trackable phone number on it…
The image itself should be well branded and easily convey…
- Who they are
- What they do
- How they can help
- “Text or Call Us: XXX-XXX-XXXX”
After you have that created…
You will then go into your Facebook ads account and create your ad campaign by choosing the “Awareness” objective.
Select your client’s geographic area (City +25 – 50 miles), frequency cap (1 impression every 1 day), daily budget ($1.00), and placements (Facebook and Instagram Feeds) at the ad set level.
Then create the ad by uploading the image…
Do not add any additional text (i.e. primary text, headline, etc.)…
Do not add any destination (i.e. website, instant experience, WhatsApp, etc.)…
Add your client’s pixel…
Add URL parameters for good measure!
Click ‘Publish’.
And literally run this campaign FOREVER!
Want to reach as many people as possible in the least amount of time?
Just increase the daily budget until the frequency hits 2.00 or higher!
