A recession has been in the forecast for much of 2023.
It just hasn’t technically happened yet.

Because by definition a recession is when there are two consecutive quarters of decline in a country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
And so far that hasn’t happened.
Another clear sign of a recession is that there will be a steady rise in job losses and a surge of unemployment.

INFLATION!
There’s only so much of it an economy can sustain before it will implode on itself.

Then the businesses simply won’t make sales…
Thus the businesses will have to lay off employees…
And if this happens at scale…
Well, let’s just say it’s not good, not good at all!
And voila, RECESSION!

As I previously mentioned…
A recession is a slow down in the economy…
Meaning, people are not spending their money.
So local small businesses will be hurting for sales.
Thus putting most local small businesses into a financial game of cat and mouse…
Where they will be forced to rob from Peter to pay Paul just to stay afloat.
Hence the reason that the first thing a local small business does is cut the fat so to speak by laying off employees.
Including unnecessary “marketing”…
Or what they perceive to be “unnecessary.”
