In this week’s issue, I want to talk about how to provide birthday marketing services as a Local Small Business Consultant or Digital Marketing Agency Owner…
This may not be a new concept to you if you’ve been doing this kind of business for any length of time…
But, what I’m about to share with you is BRAND NEW.
So with that in mind…
Let’s dive in!
What Is “Birthday Marketing?”
If you’re on enough email lists from various businesses…
Then I’m sure you’ve received an email or two from one of them when it’s your birthday.
Usually you’ll get a nicely formatted email that says, “Happy Birthday YOUR NAME!”…
But here’s the rub…
Sometimes (more often than not) you DO NOT get any type of “birthday present” from said business. 🙁
And by “birthday present” I’m talking about receiving some sort of special offer or discount to celebrate your birthday.
Makes sense, right?!
So whenever I see a business send me a “Happy Birthday” email (or text message – rarely)…
If it doesn’t contain some sort of special offer or discount…
- It’s super disappointing and disheartening
- It’s a total waste time for the business who’s sending out that birthday reminder
Bottom line is that if you’re a local small business who is going to implore a birthday marketing campaign…
You don’t want to disappoint your customers!
So make sure you’re prepared to offer some sort of “birthday present” in the form of a special offer or discount.
How Birthday Marketing Works
Birthday marketing as a service is NOT rocket science…
Especially when you can predictably put ads on Facebook and Instagram in front of ANYONE who has an upcoming birthday in the next 7 days.
All you really need to do is come up with the ad copy and image…
And select the geographic area in which your client services.
Plus, you’ll need to decide on the type of ad campaign you will want to use in order to get the best possible results.
From my experience…
I would highly recommend using a Facebook Lead Form Ad Campaign to get the lead onto your client’s email list.
However, you may also want to consider using a Facebook Messenger Ad Campaign where you’re putting that lead onto your client’s Facebook Messenger list.
And honestly, you can still add them to your client’s email list IF you can get the lead in Facebook Messenger to give (or confirm) their email address (and preferably their mobile number too).
At a minimum, you’ll want to have an automated email follow-up for leads who want to take advantage of the birthday special offer or discount your client is offering.
Why Sell Birthday Marketing Services?
This is just a no-brainer opportunity that most local small businesses are NOT taking advantage of.
Just think about it…
When you get an email or text message from one of your favorite local small businesses with a special offer or discount…
What do you do?
Well regardless of what you do…
I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I take full advantage of it! 🙂
Especially since the price of nearly everything has skyrocketed as of late.
Don’t even get me started with how expensive food has gotten recently. 🙁
But I digress…
So selling birthday marketing as a service just makes complete sense.
You can set it up one time for your client and get paid month-after-month, year-after-year…
It’s a WIN-WIN for you as the Local Small Business Consultant and/or Digital Marketing Agency Owner as well as for your client(s).
